Alice Klugherz makes work that underlines how older woman are marginalized and made to feel invisible and follows this fact to its humorous and sometimes appalling conclusion. The ideas expressed in the piece, the movement and the dialogue line up the way thoughts move: out of order. Each of her fully developed performance pieces comprises about two thirds spoken word and one-third dance. Group work grows from an idea and irritant and is further developed with the contributions of the participating artists and community members. Open workshops and early rehearsals elicit material through movement and writing exercises.
