Alejandro Guzmán (b. 1978) is a New York-based artist born in La Playa de Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. His group exhibitions include 2nd Bronx Museum of Art AIM Biennial, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx, NY (2013); Black Foliage, 48 Bowery, NYC (2012); Art in Odd Places 2011: RITUAL, NYC (2011); Masking Realities, HammerSpace, NYC (2010); and A New Currency, James Fuentes LLC, NYC (2009).
Guzmán was awarded an Honorarium by the Toledo Museum of Art (2004). Publications include The Book on Palo MayombeI (2006). He received a B.A. in Biology from the University of Colorado, B.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts, an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts, and studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
