Alberto Borea is a New York based artist born in Lima, Peru. His solo exhibitions include The Nature of Defense, Galería Lucia de la Puente, Lima (2012); Because of Construction, Y Gallery, NYC (2012); and The Mountains of America, Galeria Isabel Hurley, Spain (2011). His Group exhibitions include Mas Viejo que el Diablo, Museo de la Nacion, Lima (2012); New York, Art Museum of the Americas, Washington DC (2012); Dublin Contemporary, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin (2011); The [S] Files, El Museo’s Sixth Biennial, Museo del Barrio, NYC (2011); and Tracing the Unseen Border, La Mama Gallery, NYC (2011).
Borea was awarded a residency with Skowhegan (2008), Art Omi (2009), ISCP (2010), Sculpture Space (2011), and received a Pollock Krasner Fellowship at VSC (2009). Publications include New York Times (2011), Art Review (2010), and Art Nexus (2010). He received his B.F.A. from Escuela de Artes Corriente Alterna.
