Ain Gordon is a three-time Obie Award-winning writer, director, actor, a two-time NYFA recipient, and a Guggenheim Fellow in Playwriting. Recent projects include Not What Happened for BAM Next Wave Festival, Flynn Center, Krannert Center, and the Vermont Performance Lab; If She Stood for the Painted Bride supported by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage; and where (we) live, a collaboration with Sō Percussion at the Walker, BAM, Philadelphia Fringe, and LMCC’s River To River Festival. Gordon has presented works at numerous venues including NYTW, Soho Rep., The Public Theatre, PS 122, BAC, and HERE in New York, NY; and Mark Taper, CA; MASS MoCA and Jacob’s Pillow, MA; Krannert, IL; Baltimore Museum of Art. Gordon was an artist-in-residence at the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, New York, NY (2015) and the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, Philadelphia, PA (2011-2013). He was also a Core Writer at the Playwright’s Center, Minneapolis, MN (2009-11).

Gordon’s Art Life & Show-Biz; A Non-Fiction Play is published in Palgrave’s Dramaturgy Of The Real. Collaborations with David Gordon include ART, MA; ACT, CA; and AMTF, PA. Gordon was an original cast member of Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell Off-Broadway. Gordon also wrote for NBC’s Will & Grace and was the inaugural Visiting Artist at the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage 2011-13. Gordan has also been the Co-Director of Pick Up Performance Co(s) since 1992.
