24/6 is a New York-based Jewish Theater Company that cultivates innovative theater grounded in a rigorous engagement with Jewish tradition. 24/6 believes that the performing arts play a critical role in the vitality of American and Jewish life. Founded in 2012, 24/6 has produced 20 productions and staged readings of new works and re-envisioned classics, engaging 60 artists and approximately 2,000 audience members. 24/6 provides a home for Sabbath observant artists in New York, providing talented theater artists the opportunity to hone and practice their craft within the confines of their religious tradition. 24/6’s work relates to both the structures of Jewish rituals and Jewish time producing works which are in dialogue with the Jewish calendar, Jewish ritual, and specific historic anniversaries. 24/6 has re-envisioned classic plays, examining works through the distinct lens of Jewish ritual and Jewish modes of performance. 24/6’s works include adaptions of A Doll House; adaptions of Uncle Vanya; and Passover Plays series.
