ART21 is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring a more creative world through the works and words of living artists. Over the past decade, ART21 has established itself as the preeminent chronicler of contemporary art and artists through its Peabody Award-winning television series, Art in the Twenty-First Century, in addition to three digital series, Exclusive, New York Close Up, and Artist to Artist.
A global leader in art education, ART21 provides resources and programming to educators worldwide. ART21 maintains regular programs through the Web and social media, including the ART21 Magazine, a long-established platform for insightful writing on contemporary art and artists.
ART21 has filmed with a number of former Lower Manhattan Cultural Council resident artists and grant recipients, including Martha Colburn, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Liz Magic Laser, Mary Mattingly, Shana Moulton, and Jacolby Satterwhite.
For the 2014 River to River Festival, ART21 presented six films from its New York Close Up series.
