Join LMCC for an Open Studio with Rashaun & Silas featuring before my eyes (working title). Silas Riener, Cori Kresge, and Melissa Toogood will perform work-in-progress excerpts of Rashaun Mitchell’s new choreography, creating a shifting, fictional space, in which new identities can be built again and again. It is a dance that is concerned with personal histories, and the way that information gets absorbed in the body and translated through the body. Accumulation gives way to the unknown. The dancer becomes the site for the convergence of fact and fantasy, work and play, limitations and possibilities, now and forever.
before my eyes (working title) is scheduled to premiere at New York Live Arts in April 2015.
