Join LMCC for an Open Studio with Process Space artist-in-residence Netta Yerushalmy, featuring an open rehearsal of Helga And The Three Sailors, a new work that engages with personal history as well as aesthetic de-familiarization within a performance space, heightened by color and imagery. Though bodies are the containers of our subjectivities, dancing bodies can also be de-subjectified and rendered as pictorial matter, like colors and textures on a surface. Dance is one way to release and let go of, not only express and hold on to, who and what a person is.

Helga And The Three Sailors will premiere at Danspace Project on November 6–8, 2014.

Performed by Netta Yerushalmy
Original music by composer and vocalist Judith Berkson
