Trisha Brown’s principles of choreography and movement and the development of her creative practice are discussed by art historian Susan Rosenberg and Trisha Brown Dance Company dancer Tamara Riewe, in a talk that focuses on Brown’s seminal works of the 1970s and 1980s and also looks at Brown’s final piece of choreography i’m going to toss my arms – if you catch them, they’re yours (which is being performed at Pier 15 on June 26). Rosenberg and Riewe illuminate aspects of Brown’s relationship to visual art, her choreographic practice, and her activation of site and stage.
