Bulwark, 2006

“A social space intended to resemble a living-room, a protest barricade, and a bunker, Bulwark is built in ABC No Rio’s garden from found furniture and recycled materials and enclosed in a ring of mason sand bags.”

Flower-Pot-Hole, 2003-2004

“A Baltimore city ordinance mandated that pot holes be filled within twenty-four hours of notification. These pot holes in my former neighborhood remained for months. They are filled with potting soil and impatients.”

Born in Philadelphia, Cataldi received a BFA degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2004. Building large architectural structures from materials found on site, Cataldi was featured in group shows in Baltimore, before moving to New York where he has exhibited at Alona Kagan Gallery and ABC No Rio. Cataldi attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Bronx Museum’s Artists in the Marketplace program.
